LEAGUE PLAY

The 2023 Season runs from May 4 through October. We play on Thursdays and each week our Pairings Directors assign the pairings so that you meet new people. There will be a different Day's Play contest each week for everyone with an established handicap. For example, one week the contest may be Low Putts for the round. The contest will be flighted and a number of players will win prizes in the form of Pro Shop credit.

HANDICAPS: Our Handicap Director will initially enter your info into the USGA-approved GHIN system in order to establish and automatically maintain your Index Handicap. You will also be assigned a personal GHIN Number. Your Course Handicap is always a little different from your Index Handicap, and is determined based on specific Course Ratings. You establish and maintain your Index by posting scores from all your rounds. You will have an Index Handicap once you've played 54 holes (this can be a combination of 18 and 9 hole rounds).

• Maximum allowed Course Handicap for tournaments is 45 and you may use your full Handicap for Day's Play. 

• The highest score you can post if you do not have a Handicap is PAR+5.

• Try to post your hole-by-hole in the GHIN app or online for every course you play. www.ghin.com.

SIGNING UP TO PLAY & PAIRINGS: The CCWGA uses a Golf Genius portal for Day's Play and Tournament management. LEARN how to sign up for weekly play and special events using the application. There is a Notes field if you have special requests. The DEADLINE for Thursday signup or cancellation is Monday at 10 pm. Pairings are emailed out Tuesday mornings. Once received, any changes must be made by calling the Pro Shop - 303.666.7888. Please do not be a "no-show" - call to cancel. During weekly play, be sure to have one player in your group use the Mobile App to enter scores for the foursome.

18 hole AM 

• Starts at 8:00 am in May 

• Starts at 7:30 am June – August

• Starts at 8:00 am September– October

9 hole AM  

• Tee-times start after 18 hole am at approximately 9 am – 10 am, depending on the number of 18 hole players that signed up. 18 hole players must clear Hole 1 before 9 hole am starts. On the last Thursday of each month, play starts on the Back 9.

9 hole PM  

Tee-times start at approximately 3:10 pm and run through around 5 pm depending on the number of On the last Thursday of each month, play starts on the Back 9.

POSTING SCORES: After each round, it's important to send your score to the GHIN system, in order to maintain an accurate Handicap. Try to post on the same day as you play for greatest accuracy. Use the GHIN app on your phone or post online at www.ghin.com. Sometimes your score will be automatically posted for you. Refer to the following matrix to better understand posting scores protocol.

TEE BOX: CCWGA members play from the Graphite Tees. This is combo of Coal Car and Lantern. Keep a card in your bag so you can remember which tee box to play from. Our pre-printed Thursday league cards don’t have the arrows to show you which tee box is Graphite. In the image below, graphite is circled.  If you look at Hole 1, the arrow is pointing up to Coal Car.  On Hole 2, the arrow is pointing down to Lantern. This translates into teeing off on the Coal Car tee box on Hole 1, and the Lantern tee box on Hole 2. Make sure you are playing from the tee box designated as Graphite on the score card.​
